Occurred the most disproportionately in hexagons with more than 14%
mixed conifer forest (Northeast Oregon) and June minimum
temperature (hex. max.) of 8-11� C. Where no mixed conifer forest
(Northeast Oregon), it occurred if a hexagon had more than 1%
modified grassland (Northeast Oregon). The logistic regression
analysis showed positive or negative association with mixed conifer
forest (Northeast Oregon), and-to a lesser degree-juniper woodland,
modified grassland (Northeast Oregon), the extent of public land, and
topographic variation.
